This time a little more sophisticated post. We thought that if we would call ourselves Ladies in Pyjamas, we should know something on their history.
The word pyjama comes from the Persian word Payjama. Which means ‘leg garment’.  In the 17th century the Britons copied them and used them as a lounging outfit.

But round 1870, when the British colonials, living in South Asia, came back to the UK, introducing them again as nightwear. After that the whole world copied the habit from the Britons.

In the old days people used to wear pyjamas on their naked skin. But nowadays we wear underwear underneath it. We used to wear them to keep us warm (before central heating). But in this day and age a lot of people stopped wearing them. A lot of women started wearing womens nightwear: a nightgown, babydoll or a negligee. We think that is a shame and ask everybody to keep wearing and buying pyjamas!
